Stars – “Backlines”
It’s seems pretty clear by now that Stars‘ forthcoming album, The North, is sheer summer music. And it seems even more clear just how unfortunate it is that the album is dropping sometime in September, just out of summer’s reach. Well, fortunately enough for us, the group has preceded this release with two tracks already: “The Theory Of Relativity” and “Hold On When You Get Love And Let Go When You Give It.” So, if it’s any consolation, the group has recognized the terrible timing and has tried to make peace with their audience.
With that said, “Backlines” is great. Its upbeat, jaunty nature is displayed incredibly through every build, plateau, expanding synth chord, and sweeping coo. In comparison with the two previously released tracks, “Backlines” stands out as a more dynamic, charismatic and daring cut. Stream the track from below and enjoy!
