Ringo Starr‘s newest album Ringo 2012 was officially released yesterday. It is available for purchase on iTunes  for $7.99. Unfortunately for Ringo, however, his time as a member of The Beatles still overshadows his solo career. He revealed in an interview yesterday that he has been asked to write an autobiography. He also said, though, that the publishers were really only interested in the time in which he was a Beatle.

His frustration is understandable, but The Beatles reached heights of success that no other band has ever achieved, or probably will achieve.  The Beatles are internationally adored, a permanent staple of pop culture, and arguably the most influential musical group of all time. Try as he might, Ringo will never be able to completely distance himself from The Beatles.
