You may recognize the artist’s name from an earlier post–“Somebody That I Used To Know Vs. Dead Wrong (Scott Melker Remix)”– but, if not, you’re in for a real treat. On Scott Melker‘s latest mix, “Message In A Bottle Vs. Mercy,” the deft handed DJ has married Kanye‘s recent “Mercy,” and one of The Police‘s more notorious tracks, “Message in a Bottle.” As most mixes go, the DJ has brought together two very disparate items and layered them on top of each other. With a membrane of self-produced elements between the two layers, adhering them together, Scott has managed to create a damn good mix. While The Police’s “Message In A Bottle,” dominates the track lyrically, “Mercy” acts as more of a backdrop– aggrandizing an already loopy and whizzing instrumentation. The song was produced as a piece for Ratchet Rock, an upcoming project from Young and Reckless, clubtapes.com, and Terry Urban. Stream the track below and enjoy!
