Niia is a rising singer/ songwriter who’s already begun making waves in the blogosphere with her recent and carefully chosen cover of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World,” which is currently taking hypem by storm. Although the track is more notoriously covered by Gary Jules– whose career is practically defined by it– the young artist does well to make the track her own, and adds a mischievous tone to it. The song is both enticing, and eerily upbeat for such a typically despondent track. Makes you think twice about the kind of character Niia is. Aside from her recent success with “Mad World,” the artist has also been featured on ”Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill),” a collaborative track she did with Akon, Lil Wayne, and Wyclef Jean.
