Kid Ink – “Lost In The Sauce” (Prod. Jahlil Beats)

Following the release of his “Time Of Your Life” music video, in which a young, jaunty couple occupies every moment of their day with pure, bona fide merriment, XXL freshman, Kid Ink, comes back with “Lost In The Sauce,” a Jahlil Beats produced, radio wave conqueror. Like “Time Of Your Life,” “Lost In The Sauce” represents a foxy-eyed Kid Ink; an artist who’s mastered the formula for mainstream penetration.

Opening up with advancing and receding synth swells, which eventually grow into a churning set of percussion driven instrumentation, “Lost In The Sauce” takes off with the song’s outrageously catchy chorus: “Man, I hear these niggas talk when I see ‘em, but they don’t really say it all, all / but we ain’t really feelin’ y’all / anyway, man, I swear that they fuckin’ lost, lost / in the sauce, they fuckin’ lost, lost.” It’s, of course, one of the song’s finest moments– coining a phrase that’ll surely ripple out across demographic landscapes. How could one not enjoy the term, “Lost In The Sauce”? Here are a few examples that utilize the terms serviceableness: (1) Man, you lost in the sauce, son. (2) Mom, where are the meatballs? They’re probably just lost in the sauce, son. As you can see, Kid Ink has managed to elicit commendation from even the darkest of the world’s corners.

Although Ink’s forthcoming album, Up & Away, is tentatively scheduled for a summer release, one thing that is for certain is its inevitable radio rotation.
