Jack White – “Love Interruption”
Jack White‘s single “Love Interruption” was released to iTunes today, allowing fans an early peak at his debut solo album Blunderbuss, which is scheduled for release on April 23 of this year. Jack White has previously been involved with The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, but he is known best as the guitarist and vocalist of The White Stripes.
The White Stripes got a lot of attention, both for the outstanding quality of their music and the odd relationship between the two band members (Jack and Meg White originally claimed to be siblings, but it was later revealed that they had actually been married).
White’s solo album has been highly anticipated by fans. As a first taste, “Love Interruption” may surprise some fans. The song does not have the same distorted edge that many White Stripes songs have, rather “Love Interruption” is a more subdued acoustic song. Whether all the songs on Blunderbuss will be like this is still to be seen. That being said, the song is still a great work by a very talented musician. The gritty tonal quality of the acoustic blends well with White’s voice, and allows the song to maintain White’s usual edge. Lyrics like “I want love to murder my own mother” add to the song’s edginess, and probably also make family gatherings pretty awkward.
