Interview With Adora

We here at Homeless Tracks recently landed an interview with the immensely talented Adora. The interview is reprinted here verbatim.

1. How did you form?

The band started as a two piece being drums and piano. Chris and Keith rehearsed in an old chocolate factory building on the west side of Chicago. Stormie was a later audition who made it in the band after about 4 months of playing together. Mike came into the project originally to be a live guitar player, but the group had strong intention on adding him to the full time roster to complete the quad piece. haha, i said quad piece.
 2. Where did you get the name “Adora?”
Adora has a couple different dictionarial meanings, but we found the name off of google. searched what it meant because we liked the way it sounded. One definition ended up being an affection or involving feeling of mutual togetherness. That is what i think makes the name unique that we play together as a team well and have a one mutual goal to keep getting better as musicians.
 3. Your latest album, One Word, had a few acoustic songs, which differed in tone from your first EP. What prompted the change?
We wanted to give the listeners a break from the heavy stuff, in a nutshell. Personally the acoustic song gives Stormie a chance to really let her voice shine in this song. It creates more of a darker and more emotional feel to the album as it is near the end preluding to the final two tracks.
4. Do you think you’ll be writing more acoustic songs in the future?
We have been discussing more ideas along the lines of a ballad. Something such as piano and voice next time maybe with some string production behind it. Little simple and slower ideas that can really give Storm the chance to bring out a different kind of emotion. We are learning so much with each release.

5. Not too long ago, you tweeted a link to our review of One Word (because you’re great). How’d you find out about it?

To be honest, and sorry I do not remember doing that! Maybe someone else in the band did but im sure your page was found through another review of a bands release.

6. I know that One Word just came out, but can fans expect a new release anytime in the near future?

We are hoping late summer to release a few more tracks. Nothing set as far as dates but currently we have some ideas forming for releases this year.

7. Do you have anything else you’d like to say?

Anyone interested in hearing our new release, you can stream “One Word” for free on our vibedeck page: http://www.vibedeck.com/adora – We are also on iTunes! Thanks for reading.
