Man, I remember the first time I ever heard of Crystal Castles. I was on a family vacation in the Dominican Republic and was sitting on the beach with a Dutch fellow I had met, when he asked if I’d enjoy listening to some music (I promise you he wasn’t making a move), and believe it or not, he put on “Crimewave.” At the time I had no idea who the group was, but from that moment on, I certainly took a liking to the Canadian duo. But now that you know a little bit more about me, how about I get to the point here. Now, nearly two years after the release of their self-titled album– the same album that contained the track, “Suffocation,” which this post is about– we’ve been graced with visuals to the song. The video follows a mopey, sulking Alice around a mansion while she dons all sorts of different designer garments. The video was made in association with Vs. Magazine, and was shot as a fashion shoot in an abandoned NYC mansion. It can be watched here, enjoy!
