All-American Rejects – “Beekeeper’s Daughter”
“Beekeeper’s Daughter” was released to iTunes yesterday, January 31. The track will be included on the album Kids in the Street, All-American Rejects‘ fourth studio album. Kids in the Street is scheduled for release on March 27th of this year.
“Beekeeper’s Daughter” has a different feel from older songs by the band. The guitar has a cleaner sound than fans may be used to, although Ritter’s voice still has the same light strain and practiced falsetto. Even that, however, has a different feel. The bounce of “Gives You Hell” is not present here. The overall feel of the song is a little darker. For lack of a better word, it feels more mature. That change is reflective of leader singer and lyricist Tyson Ritter, who has said that he feels like he’s changed a lot, and become much more humble. He wanted Kids in the Street to reflect that, and if “Beekeeper’s Daughter” is anything to go by, he has been successful.
