Admiral Fallow – “Beetle in the Box”

Admiral Fallow is a Scottish band based in Glasgow. They were formed in 2007, and released their debut album in 2011. Their next album, Tree Bursts In Snow, is due out May 21, 2012. The group has released “Beetle in the Box,” a single off this new album, as an early sample. It is available for $0.99 on iTunes, or as a limited-time free download on admiralfallow.com.

“Beetle in the Box” is a catchy song, with fairly simple instrumentation and straightforward drumming. The chorus is highly catchy, and the blend of male and female harmonies is lovely. Fans of accents will love the Scottish accent that comes through in their singing.

The gentle strumming and arpeggios of the guitar and the steady drums keep the song moving along, allowing the listener to easily sink into a groove. “Beetle in the Box” is one of those songs that functions as a great piece of background music, but also one with very well written lyrics, lyrics that are worth paying attention to.

Listen to the song yourself, and be on the lookout for the album’s release.
